Group 1 "Wishing Well" Response Further

Frisking: skip or leap playfully; frolic or also to search (a person) for concealed weapons, contraband goods, etc.,by feeling the person's clothing

 This term itself used when talking about the season of autumn/fall obviously means the frolic part of the definition because the leaves have all fallen "playfully" from the trees due to the season change. Applying the second definition to the part a bout frisking autumn, the trees are bare making it hard to conceal anything. However when applied to the whole poem and in relation to touch/communication it is the second part of the dictionary definition which deals with searching by touch. This has to go along with the idea of connection, especially when the speaker and the other man hold hands (they are now touching) by the wishing well which brings the speaker/narrator a sense of comfort. 

Waiver: an intentional relinquishment of some right, interest, or the like; an express or written statement of such relinquishment 

 The term used in the section it is used in "I am laughing so w hat you want me to sign a waiver?" is a sarcastic remark to the other man saying he would make a wish for the narrator. However, it's like this man wants the narrator's permission or consent to make the wish which seems old because the narrator should just accept the man's kindness instead of responding rudely. It applies to touch and communication because when the man and narrator hold hands and connect he "relinquishes" his tough/distant personality for the connection with another human being. 

 In Conclusion:
Both of these terms come back to the idea that this poem is about the normal lack of connection or communication between humans in New York city being pushed aside with the man and the narrator who end up holding hands at the wishing well. Holding hands is invading personal space (just like frisking does) and pushing past those societal barriers (relinquishing his tough personality).  A surrender in which you discover plenitude (completion, wealth, being full/complete).

Chapter Four & Five "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close"

Chapter four allows another narrator to come into "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" other than Oskar. It is a letter from his grandmother, who he is very close with and relies on daily for support through their conversations using the walkie talkies. The way she writes/narrates is different than the way Oskar does. Her ideas are rather linear and go from one to another with relation to the previous statement. However, Oskar's ideas tend to bounce around, for instance the idea about the teakettle and talking anus's in the first chapter we read. A majority of these characters, Oskar, Grandma and Grandpa, all keep/want letters. Each story that is told by these characters differ and we get to see it from different perspectives. I think this book has a large focus on how people see and experience things that happen to them in life. Chapter 6 & 7 "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close"

Chapter 6 is narrated by Oskar's Grandfather and he tells us in the letter what happened with Oskar's Grandmother, a completely different experience than how she described it in her letter. We can assume that this letter is from grandpa because it has the same date as the letter from grandma, not coincedetal in my opinion. We get an insight into his life as he grew up and how he met grandma through her sister, whom he orginally slept with first. We also find out that he apologizes for leaving her and their unborn child and for all the other wrong doings he has done in life. He also writes one sentence on pages, just like Oskar does when he narrates the story. Chapter 7 goes back to Oskar narrating and it occurs when he is in the production of Hamlet.
